Agri-Photovoltaics opens up the possibility of implementing Photovoltaics in a land-saving manner while simultaneously increasing farmers' resilience.

The simultaneous use of an area for electricity generation using Photovoltaic modules (PV modules) and for the production of food, fodder, or raw material crops increases agricultural use, which must remain the priority and must not be influenced, or only marginally influenced, by electricity generation.

Depending on the selection of the appropriate system design, Agri-PV can, in some cases, enormously increase the land use rate on agricultural land.

A crucial factor, in addition to selecting the situation-specific system design, is the selection of suitable crops and/or the intended livestock farming in accordance with DIN SPEC 91432 (Livestock farming in Agri-PV Systems) and DIN SPEC 91434 (Agri-PV Systems).

The special microclimate beneath the Photovoltaic system promotes plant growth and accelerates vegetation development, which benefits higher crop yields.

Irrigation is carried out as a combination of collected rainwater and fresh water, treated and optimized with a biological substrate fertilizer.
